We Care if You Listen

The New Music Cooperative was featured in February in the Yale Daily News. The article included quotes from Max Vinetz, Cyrus Duff, Elena Saavedra Buckley, Jonah Pearl, Jack Lawrence, and Ana Barrett. You can read the full article here to find out more about our members and our mission.

Also be sure to check back soon because the recordings from our Winter Concert are nearly finished and will be released shortly!

NMC Call for Scores!

The New Music Cooperative at Yale College (NMC) is very excited to announce its second concert ever this coming February! We are hoping to include as many new composers as possible. For those of you who don’t know, NMC is an organization that fosters a collaborative environment between Yale’s undergraduate composers and performers.

Scores are due January 15th!

Guidelines for submission:
– Composers submitting their scores must be Yale undergraduates
– Applicants may submit only one work
– Pieces may be written for up to 8 performers, of any ensemble type (“open instrumentation”)
– Submitted works must not exceed 10 minutes duration.

List of required materials:
-PDF of full score; make sure your name isn’t on the score. (This is to ensure anonymity in the selection process)
-A separate document (PDF) including name, year, and a very short composer bio
-Any sort of supplementing audio material; MIDI mockups, mp3, .wav etc.

The concert will take place late February! All scores are due by January 15th! Send all materials in a single email to max.vinetz@yale.edu

Thanks for participating!

(Did we mention that scores are due January 15th?)
